Xav’s Recommendation

Survival horror is all but dead at this point and we have Dead Space 3 to thank for betraying us by going all out action. On the plus side (no pun intended) we have games like Outlast for the PlayStation 4 which try their best to give survival horror fans the type of experience they crave and very rarely get.

Originally released for the PC late last year, Outlast is a survival horror game developed by Red Barrels that’s currently sitting on a rather healthy 80% Metacritic score. If you’re a survival horror who’s pissed off over the lack of love the genre tends to receive, Outlast is the best you’ll get until The Evil Within shows up so be sure to give it a try.
